In her dorm room, LEA G550 produces four-on-the-floor house bangers inspired by nights out at drag clubs and raves in San Francisco. She just moved to LA, surviving off of an EBT card and two side hustles to pay for rent (and concert tickets, hellooo!!!). Raised by a super cool teen mom with bleach blonde hair in the suburbs of the early 2000s, LEA was heavily influenced by music from Britney Spears, Nelly Furtado, Black Eyed Peas, and Timbaland. At 15, LEA started ignoring her homework to produce music on her 2011 Mac– now, she’s at USC Thornton School of Music with a minor in cinematic arts… bc she also edits all her own visuals. Sick right?
This year, LEA is gonna lean into that 2000s sound even more, with 2016 sunset-beach-palm tree-skater-vibes sprinkled into her visual world. Hope to see u there. Anyway, what’s the best nightclub out here?
